Lynchburg Developer Drives Forward with Plans for Mixed-Use Development
When Lynchburg developer Dick Schoew envisioned The Preserve at Oakwood, a commercial and residential center with amenities for tenants and residents in the Graves Mill mixed-use development zone, he was counting on a new Lynchburg Expressway interchange that was in the works to serve a shopping center that ultimately was never built. As a result, the planned interchange is now in doubt and City Council voted last week to rezone a site in its path and allow an apartment complex to be constructed. (more…)
Upscale Retail Planned for Lynchburg
Lynchburg has decided to sell more than six acres of city-owned land to a developer planning a new shopping center, complete with upscale retail new to the area, possibly with The Fresh Market grocery store as an anchor. The chain is making an expansion push, and its nearest locations to Lynchburg are in Richmond and Roanoke. (more…)
